Saraighat Bridge
The Saraighat Bridge in Guwahati is a historic 1.49 km (roughly 1.5 km) rail-cum-road bridge over the Brahmaputra River, famously inaugurated in 1962/1963. It was the first bridge built across the river in Assam, connecting Northeast India with the rest of the country. A second, parallel “New Saraighat Bridge” was added in 2017.
